Following the New England Patriots difficult 38-9 loss to the Buffalo Bills, there may be a bit of a silver lining despite the defeat. The Patriots could still have a draft pick as high as ninth overall. However, they need a specific scenario to happen.

First, the Patriots will need to lose to the New York Jets next week. In addition to that, the Vikings will have to beat the Lions, and the Cowboys will have to beat the Giants.

Next, Washington will need to be to Philadelphia. To round out the NFC’s part in this scenario, the Panthers will have to beat the Saints.

In terms of the AFC, the Broncos will have to beat the Raiders, and the Chargers will have to beat the Chiefs.

The Patriots will enter the season finale looking to defeat a New York Jets team that is coming off a win over the Cleveland Browns. At 2-13, the Jets don’t have much to play for either.

Next Sunday could set the stage for bigger things for New England heading into the offseason. as the Patriots look to continue rebuilding, a lot of difficult decisions will have to be made.
