Here’s a look at the SEC’s best receivers from each school and how they rank

This 3rd installment in our Gators Wire original series will attempt to rank the likely No. 1 wide receiver for every member school in fall.

No. 9 Osirus Mitchell – Mississippi State Bulldogs (Redshirt senior – Sarasota, Florida)

Spending his first two years in Starkville under Dan Mullen, Mitchell has posted nearly identical numbers the last two seasons.

Recording 26 receptions for 427 yards (16.4 avg) and four touchdowns in 2018, he tallied 29 catches, 430 yards (14.8 avg), and six scores last fall, leading the Bulldogs in the latter two categories and finishing just one reception shy of Stephen Guidry and Deddrick Thomas for a share of the team lead.

Set to play his final collegiate season under one of America’s most pass-happy coaches in Air Raid mastermind Mike Leach and receiving a new quarterback in Stanford Cardinal graduate transfer K.J. Costello, Mitchell appears primed for a career year in 2020.
