Here’s a look at the SEC’s best receivers from each school and how they rank

This 3rd installment in our Gators Wire original series will attempt to rank the likely No. 1 wide receiver for every member school in fall.

No. 1 Ja’Marr Chase – LSU Tigers (Junior – Harvey, Louisiana)

The reigning Fred Biletnikoff Award winner as college football’s most outstanding receiver, Chase is quite possibly not only the best wideout in the SEC, but the best in America.

Snaring 84 passes for 1,780 yards (21.2 avg) and 20 touchdowns, the latter two of which are single-season program records, he earned first-team All-Conference and unanimous All-American honors in 2019.

Of course, this record-setting production came with Heisman Trophy winner Joe Burrow, selected with the No. 1 overall pick by the Cincinnati Bengals in April, piloting the Tigers’ offense.

How Chase will fare with redshirt junior Myles Brennan at the helm remains to be seen, but many project 2020 to be his final season in Baton Rouge and his name to be called in the top-five picks of the 2021 NFL Draft.
