Here’s a look at the SEC’s best receivers from each school and how they rank

This 3rd installment in our Gators Wire original series will attempt to rank the likely No. 1 wide receiver for every member school in fall.

No. 6 Elijah Moore- Ole Miss Rebels (Junior – Fort Lauderdale, Florida)

A teammate of Grimes’ at St. Thomas Aquinas, Moore was one of the top-40 receivers in the 2018 cycle and committed to then-head coach Matt Luke’s Rebels five days before Christmas 2017.

While his “dog peeing” celebration in last season’s Egg Bowl will be a tough act to forget, Moore’s first two years in Oxford have been productive.

Catching 36 passes for 398 yards (11.1 avg) and two scores as a freshman, he nearly doubled his output in all three statistical categories as a sophomore by bringing in 67 passes for 850 yards (12.7 avg) and six touchdowns.

These 2019 numbers are even more impressive when considering how run-heavy Ole Miss was a year ago with freshman John Rhys Plumlee at quarterback and Rich Rodriguez serving as the program’s offensive coordinator.

Joining Plumlee and sophomore Jerrion Ealy, who both also play for the Rebels’ baseball team, Moore provides new head coach Lane Kiffin, one of college football’s most innovative offensive minds, with a trio of talented playmakers.
