Heat vs. Celtics: Prediction, point spread, odds, over/under, betting picks 1/6

Everything you need to know to wager on tonight’s Boston-Miami contest.

The Miami Heat play the Boston Celtics on Wednesday, Jan. 6, and if you’re looking to do some last-minute betting research, you’re in luck! We’ll give you the latest point spread, moneyline odds and over-under number, as well as the information you’ll need to make the smartest bet on BetMGM.

The game tips off at 7:30 p.m. ET and can be seen on ESPN. While the Celtics can point to the lack of All-Star point guard Kemba Walker for their early season turbulence, it’s less clear what ails the Heat. Both teams have some good wins and excusable losses, as well as a few head-scratchers.

  • Point spread: + 2.5
  • Moneyline: 2.15/ 1.72
  • Over-under: 217.5

Advice and prediction

It’s looking like a close one between camps taking the Heat and Celtics in terms of tickets with 52% going for the Heat, according to the Action Network. With games seemingly either very tight or a blowout across much of the early season NBA action, we have no reason to doubt this could be the same, so the point spread seems about right for two teams with a chip on their shoulders carried over from last season’s East Finals. With Marcus Smart and Jeff Teague both listed as questionable for tonight’s contest, we’ll go with the Heat for this one.

Prediction: Miami 122, Boston 119
