Prior to Saturday’s matchup between Auburn and LSU, CBS will air a special episode of INSIDE THE HUDDLE: COLLEGE FOOTBALL EDITION and Auburn coach Gus Malzahn and linebacker K.J. Britt will make an appearance.

Per the press release, the Tigers coach and the injured captain will discuss the importance of leadership, communication and being flexible during this season that is unlike any other due to the COVID-19 crisis.

Britt, who was voted a team captain prior to the season, suffered a thumb injury against Georgia in Week 2 of the season, forcing him to have surgery and miss the rest of the year.

Other parts of the episode include:

  • High School Football Coach – Curtis High School Staten Island, N.Y. head football coach Peter Gambardella provides the view of a coach who normally sends several players a year to Division 1 programs. • College Coaches – Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher explains what it is like to be coaching and navigating a team in this era, and Auburn head coach Gus Malzahn, along with senior linebacker and team captain KJ Britt, discuss the importance of leadership, communication and being flexible this season.
  •  Administrator – CBS Sports’ Aaron Taylor sits down with Stanford University Athletic Director Bernard Muir as he gives his perspective from the administrative level on how the pandemic has affected college football from the health and safety protocols that have had to be put in place, to the tough business decisions he’s had to make as the PAC-12 looks to begin its season on November 7.
  • Parents – Former Ohio State All-American and NFL All-Pro Jim Lachey, and his wife Ann, talk about sending their youngest to play football at Iowa.  Plus comments from Ohio State and Nebraska parents on the first weekend of Big Ten play.
  • Broadcasters – CBS Sports’ lead college football announce team of Brad Nessler, Gary Danielson and Jamie Erdahl discuss this season from the perspective of the booth and the sidelines.

IN THE HUDDLE: COLLEGE FOOTBALL EDITION will be hosted by CBS Sports’ Jenny Dell with reporting and interviewing by Aaron Taylor, Aaron Murray and Kevin Carter.

The show leads into the DRIVE TO ATLANTA at 2:30 PM, ET and COLLEGE FOOTBALL TODAY at 3:00 PM, ET.  CBS Sports then showcases its SEC ON CBS game, LSU vs. Auburn at 3:30 PM, ET.
