What was once the number two recruiting class for 2024 lost another player on Monday. Point guard Boogie Fland has now asked to be released from his National Letter of Intent, making him the fourth of six 2024 recruits to do so.
Fland is ranked as the number 18 overall recruit, and the number two combo guard in the class. He’s a terrific shooter who has tons of upside in the other areas of the game.
The McDonald’s All-American was an important addition to a team that, even before the coaching change, was expected to lose at least two of their most important guards. Fland was set to take on a lot of minutes early one for the Wildcats.
New Kentucky coach Mark Pope has stayed in contact with Fland, so there’s at least a chance he could wind up in Lexington. Most likely, however, one of the many other options, with less upheaval will wind up landing him. Fans will have to wait and see how things play out.
