Greg Robinson now in the concussion protocol, status for Sunday uncertain

If Robinson can’t play, Justin McCray will start at left tackle

As if the Cleveland Browns needed any more adversity, the injury bug bit unexpectedly in Wednesday’s practice. Starting left tackle Greg Robinson missed practice after reporting concussion-like symptoms to the Browns training staff. The source of the injury is unknown, and Robinson did practice earlier in the week.

He is now in the NFL’s concussion protocol. Robinson’s availability for Sunday’s key AFC North matchup in Pittsburgh against the blitz-happy Steelers is in doubt. He will need to clear the protocol before Sunday.

If Robinson can’t go, expect Justin McCray to slide into the lineup at left tackle. He replaced Robinson back in Week 8 and upgraded the run blocking, but McCray is not up to Robinson’s standards in pass protection…and that’s not a very high bar either.
