The wait is over for tight end Greg Olsen, and he’s not coming to the Buffalo Bills.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the 13-year-veteran has decided to sign with the Seattle Seahawks. Olsen had reportedly visited the Bills, Seahawks and Washington Redskins after being released by the Carolina Panthers earlier this month. Ironically enough, Olsen had closer relationships with the Redskins and Bills coaching staff, with both Sean McDermott and Washington’s Ron Rivera spending extensive time with the Panthers like Olsen, but the tight end opted for the Seahawks instead.
Olsen signed a pretty hefty contract for one year with Seattle, worth $7 million:
Former Panthers’ TE Greg Olsen is signing a one-year, $7 million deal that includes $5.5M gtd with the Seahawks, per source. Olsen visited and negotiated with Buffalo, Seattle and Washington but felt most comfortable with the Seahawks.

Without Olsen in the picture, the Bills move forward in the offseason with 2019 third-round pick Dawson Knox as the No. 1 player in their tight end room. He saw an extended run of play early and often as a rookie last year thanks to injuries to Tyler Kroft.
Kroft is still under contract with the Bills, but could still be a causality for the Bills thanks to the deep tight end room the team has, even without Olsen. Also to consider are Tommy Sweeney, Lee Smith and Jason Croom.
