Although Texas suffered a last-minute loss to Oklahoma in Week 6, all of their goals are still achievable.
In fact, many believe Texas can reach the College Football Playoff if they are able to win the remaining regular season games on the schedule and take home the Big 12 title in December.
Greg McElroy, the host of Always College Football podcast, recently tabbed Texas as the top one-loss team in the country at the moment. McElroy believes the Longhorns have already done enough this season to warrant that notion.
The dominant win in Tuscaloosa over Alabama in Week 2 is obviously the biggest win for the Longhorns this season, but McElroy also notes the impressive records of two opponents that Texas has beaten. Kansas and Wyoming are 5-2 on the season, their success only helps strengthen Texas’ College Football Playoff resume.
