Gotham Knights will not support four-player co-op

The Bat Family only works in pairs, apparently.

Earlier this week, the PlayStation Store page for Gotham Knights suggested that four-player online co-op was a feature. Sadly, it looks like that probably isn’t the case.

On Tuesday, Warner Brothers Montréal released a gameplay trailer for Gotham Knights. The footage only shows single-player escapades, which obviously doesn’t help clarify how extensive the co-op options are. However, the PlayStation Store now states that Gotham Knights only supports up to two players online. The Bat family (sadly) only works in pairs, it seems.

It’s a huge bummer, no doubt. Warner Brothers Games routinely highlights all four playable characters (Nightwing, Robin, Batgirl, and Red Hood) in advertisements, so it’s understandable why so many people were expecting four-player co-op. Personally, my interest in this one took a nose dive upon learning this.

It’s worth noting that Warner Brothers Games hasn’t explicitly shot down four-player rumors. Though the quiet PSN listing update is probably all the confirmation you need. Maybe things will change by launch, but I certainly wouldn’t count on it.

Gotham Knights is coming out on Oct. 25, 2022, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Originally, there were PS4 and Xbox One versions, but both are officially canceled.
