Golden State Warriors, other teams reportedly interested in trading for Celtics’ Payton Pritchard

Per MassLive’s Brian Robb, Boston has shown little interest in dealing the Oregon native, however.

The dip in playing time for Boston Celtics reserve guard Payton Pritchard has led to teams around the league asking about the former Oregon standout’s availability ahead of the 2023 NBA trade deadline per new reporting from MassLive’s Brian Robb. Included among those inquirers is the Celtics’ 2022 NBA Finals foe, the Golden State Warriors.

The recent spate of injuries that thrust Pritchard back into the rotation served as a reminder why Boston has kept the Oregon native despite sparse playing opportunities when the roster is healthy. This is likely the reason the Celtics have shown little inclination to trade Pritchard according to Robb.

The Celtics could conceivably end up moving Pritchard at the Feb. 9 trade deadline should an offer come up that helps address the strength of the team’s frontcourt rotation or some unforeseen move that would upgrade the team’s depth.

But barring such an option, it seems probable Pritchard will remain a member of Boston’s roster for the rest of the season.
