The New York Giants improved their record to 3-1 on Sunday, defeating the Chicago Bears by a score of 20-12 at MetLife Stadium.
The win did not come without a cost, however. The Giants suffered a multitude of injuries, including to quarterbacks Daniel Jones (ankle) and Tyrod Taylor (concussion), as well as safety Julian Love, right tackle Evan Neal and several others.
But the team has no time to wallow as they now prepare for a trip to London and a Sunday morning game against the Green Bay Packers.
There’s a lot to break down and a lot to go over but before we look ahead, let’s look back. Here are the snap counts that contributed to the Giants’ victory.
Offensive snaps: 65
Defensive snaps: 62
Special teams snaps: 30
It’s hard to read much into the snap counts this week given the overwhelming number of injuries the Giants suffered. Wide receiver Richie James Jr. seemed to trend in the wrong direction with just 21 snaps despite Kenny Golladay leaving the game. Darius Slayton also saw more time with 39 snaps.
Defensively, Kayvon Thibodeaux saw an increased role and it would appear as if his pitch count is a thing of the past. The same can not be said for fellow edge rusher Azeez Ojulari, who reinjured his calf.
