Giants WR Da’Mari Scott to opt out of 2020 season

Da’Mari Scott is opting out of the 2020 season.

New York Giants kick returner and wide receiver Da’Mari Scott informed the team he will be opting out of the 2020 season.

Scott is the second Giants player behind starting left tackle Nate Solder to voluntarily opt out for the 2020 season due to the COVID-19 pandemic hitting the country.

Scott entered the NFL as an undrafted rookie free agent with the Buffalo Bills following the 2018 NFL Draft. The Giants claimed him off of waivers in July 2019 where he spent most of the campaign on the practice squad.

After voluntarily opting out, Scott will either receive $350,000 if he’s considered medically a high-risk to COVID or a $150,000 salary advance.
