The NFL trade deadline is rapidly approach (4:00 p.m. ET on Tuesday) and teams must make final decisions on whether or not they’re buyers or sellers and if the latter, who they’d like to trade.

Although the New York Giants have fielded calls and discussed potentially acquiring some players, they appear to be leaning more heavily towards selling players off.

Already they’ve traded outside linebacker Markus Golden to the Arizona Cardinals, while speculation has run ramped that they’re seeking to part ways with wide receiver Golden Tate and guard Kevin Zeitler as well.

That now appears to be confirmed.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that the Giants are “willing to trade” older, higher-priced veterans and wouldn’t you know it, he singled out both Tate and Zeitler.

The New York Giants are willing to trade older, high-priced veterans such as guard Kevin Zeitler and wide receiver Golden Tate. New York already traded pass-rusher Markus Golden to Arizona last month.

Tate is in the second year of a four-year deal worth $37.5 million and is slated to earn $8.475 million in 2021 and $5.975 million in 2020.

Zeitler, meanwhile, is in the second year of a three-year deal worth $32 million and is on the books for $12 million in 2021.

Given the bloated salary for each player coupled with their lack of production this season (not solely their fault), it’s unlikely the Giants would get any sort of significant haul for either player. They were able to acquire just a sixth-round pick in exchange for Golden and they shouldn’t expect much more for Tate or Zeitler.

However, if there is a playoff team looking to add an established guard or receiver and believe that’s the missing piece, it’s possibly general manager Dave Gettleman will get a little something extra in return.

Either way, keep an eye out for Tate and Zeitler being on the mover over the next day and a half.
