The New York Giants are reopening team facilities for the first time since going into lock-down in March, but there will be no practices or minicamps in the near future.
The NFL announced earlier this week that facilities can not only reopen, but that coaches and an increased number of personnel are now permitted into the building. However, due to continued COVID-19 restrictions, the usual offseason activities are not expected to resume until training camp begins in late July.
For now, the Giants remain engrossed in their virtual offseason program, which began on April 20 and has twice been extended, but will soon come to an end.
The team is expected to close out their virtual program to veterans on June 12, while rookies will remain hard at work until June 26. From there, players will get a short vacation before returning for training camp, which will be held in East Rutherford, New Jersey sometime around July 29 (exact date TBD).

The Giants are scheduled to play their first preseason game on August 13 against the New York Jets, which generally comes two weeks after the start of training camp, so that’s the window we’ll be looking at for the first Giants practice of the year.
