The New York Giants and New York Jets have a storied history, one largely dominated by Big Blue.
Roughly two decades ago, the two teams were hosting a joint practice as part of training camp when a massive brawl broke out. For 17 years the two sides would not hold a joint practice until 2022 when Brian Daboll and Robert Saleh brought the teams together again.
At the time, Daboll and Saleh wanted to make joint practices an annual event, but the teams ended up not practicing in 2023.
Previously it was announced that the Giants would have joint practice with the Detroit Lions on August 5 and August 6, but the Giants and Jets will also meet in 2024 for a joint practice.
Here’s a list of upcoming joint training camp practices this summer, per NFL – IMO these can be so valuable for development particularly for teams who rest some or all starters in the preseason (and better than preseason for some because you’re actually running your new stuff) pic.twitter.com/Y5ZZ7mOoJ9

The scheduled practice will take place at Atlantic Health Jets Training Center on August 21.
The tension on the field is palpable when the Giants and Jets meet, no matter where that meeting takes place or what the purpose is. The sides have met in practice, regular season, and preseason, and it’s always intense. Little brother versus big brother.
With the appropriate mindset and preparation, the Giants and Jets showed us in 2022 that mutual respect is possible. Both of these teams are very different this year than they were then, but the head coaches remain consistent, so there’s no reason to think this year’s practice will be any different than 2022.
