New York Giants second round pick, wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson, has been signed to a deal that will guarantee him more money than players taken in his spot have gotten in the past.

Robinson was selected 43rd overall, and his deal is much more lucrative than the Giants’ second round pick last year — linebacker Azeez Ojulari.

Ojulari, taken 50th overall, signed a four-year, $6,774,908 deal which included a $2,287,208 signing bonus with $3,255,158 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $1,693,727.

Second and third round picks — also know as Day 2 selections — are becoming more and more valuable each year. It is rare that teams surrender these picks in trades these days unless in blockbuster-type deals.
