The New York Giants (1-5) will host the Carolina Panthers (3-3) at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey on Sunday afternoon.
Opening the week, the Giants were listed as 2.5-point home underdogs but the spread has gotten slightly worse and sits at +3.5 as of this writing.
Let’s take a look at who some of the experts and insiders around the league are taking in the Week 7 matchup:
Expert | Pick | Score (if applicable) |
Laura Rutledge (ESPN) | Panthers | N/A |
Matt Bowen (ESPN) | Panthers | N/A |
Emmanuel Acho (ESPN) | Panthers | N/A |
Pete Prisco (CBS) | Giants | 19-16 |
Jared Dubin (CBS) | Panthers | N/A |
Ryan Wilson (CBS) | Panthers | N/A |
Nate Davis (USA TODAY) | N/A | 30-17 |
Lorenzo Reyes (USA TODAY) | N/A | 29-16 |
Bill Bender (Sporting News) | Giants | 20-19 |
Vinnie Iyer (Sporting News) | Panthers | 20-16 |
The predictions are mixed this week but not as mixed as some of us expected. We anticipated greater balance entering this Sunday’s slate of action but instead, the vast majority are picking Carolina over New York.
That’s the logical choice given how poorly the Giants have played and how banged up they are, but the Panthers are missing key players and are on a recent slide as well.
Those who have picked New York believe any victory will come via a field goal or less. Those who have picked Carolina see a close game as well, but not quite as close.
