Giants’ uniforms ranked among NFL’s worst

The New York Giants recently had their standard uniforms ranked among the worst in the NFL, but those alternates got some serious love.

The New York Giants sport a classic and traditional look with the current version of their uniforms, and they’ve done very little dabbling with the style in recent years.

Although the team has made slight changes to their attire, most of the creative work has come as part of their alternate uniforms, which are widely considered among the best in football.

However, the same opinion is not shared in regards to their base home and road uniforms, which were recently ranked among the league’s worst courtesy of The Athletic.

On the plus side, those aforementioned color rush/alternate did earn a fist bump.

25. Giants. Fun fact, the team nicknamed “Big Blue” actually wore red for most of its first 31 years in the NFL. OK, maybe it’s not that fun, but you try digging up something snazzy about one of the league’s enduring, but pedestrian, uniforms. The colors are muted, the design is understated and even the “ny” logo is in lowercase. What is this, the little apple?

Best look: The Giants’ color-rush jersey ranks among the best of that genre, with a white jersey that evokes the feel of the 1976-99 jerseys. It looked fabulous last season during the Week 9 game against the Cowboys on “Monday Night Football.”

Everyone loves the classic “Giants” uniform, but even the lowercase “ny” returns memories from the glory years. But with most teams across the league making adjustments, perhaps it’s time for the Giants to bite the bullet and do the same?
