Giants Twitter turns Daniel Jones turf monster trip into a meme

New York Giants Twitter had fun at the expense of QB Daniel Jones, who tripped over his own feet in open field on Thursday night.

New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones broke off an 80-yard run in a 22-21 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles on Thursday night, but he was unable to finish the scamper because the turf monster reached out and got him.

With a clear path to the end zone, Jones began to stumble around the Eagles’ 30-yard line before going down inside the 10.

“I just tried to run faster than I was running and I got caught up,” Jones told reporters matter-of-factly.

The Giants were able to salvage the drive thanks to a 1-yard touchdown run courtesy of Wayne Gallman.

“We finished the drive and scored a touchdown. That was a relief to me for sure,” said Jones, who clocked 21.23 mph on the run.

Unsurprisingly, however, Giants Twitter did not care one bit that New York finished the drive with a score. No, no … instead, it was all about Jones taking a tumble in the open field.

If the Giants had won the game, this would all be much funnier. But here we are nonetheless.
