Giants to begin virtual offseason on Monday

The New York Giants will open their virtual offseason program on Monday through Zoom and Skype.

The New York Giants were scheduled to begin their offseason on April 6 under new head coach Joe Judge and his staff. The coronavirus pandemic has teams scrambling for ways to unify their teams in other ways.

Teams with new head coaches are given extra time to ramp up their offseason programs. Instead, they will start April 20 with the rest of teams.

Teams are holding “virtual” offseason meetings and training sessions over platforms such as Zoom and Skype in hopes of getting at least the classroom part of the offseason kicked off.

Teams also have not been able to meet with potential draftees and free agents and perform physicals on players they traded for or signed this offseason.

Every team is in the same boat but teams with new head coaches are usually more aggressive in ramping things up. With many of the players not having met the coaching staff, the Giants are at a bit of a disadvantage.
