The NFL permitted teams to reopen their facilities earlier this month, but for the New York Giants, many have chosen to stay home.
While co-owner John Mara, general manager Dave Gettleman, some medical staff and some IT staff have returned to their East Rutherford offices, head coach Joe Judge and his coaching staff have opted to continue working virtually.
Initially, that was expected to carry over into training camp in late July, but a Monday report courtesy of NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero could change that.
Currently, only injured and rehabbing players are allowed to be in the team’s facilities, but given the bizarre nature of the offseason, the NFL and NFLPA are discussing the possibility of allowing rookies and newly signed free agents to return prior to June 26.
No dates set yet and no minicamps expected, but the NFL and NFLPA are discussing the possibility of certain players — such as rookies, and veterans who changed teams and need physicals — returning to club facilities on a limited basis before June 26, per sources.

Additionally, the NFL also released outlines for dealing with the coronavirus, including keeping lockers six feet apart, mask requirements and virtual meetings.

Although it wouldn’t be much, having Judge and his rookies together in the building at the same time would give the team a minor boost and at least get those players started in their adjustment to NFL life.
