Giants projected to be among NFL’s top 5 riches teams by 2025

With sports betting now legal in New Jersey, the New York Giants are projected to be among the NFL’s five richest teams by 2025.

The New York Giants are one of the most valuable franchises not just in the NFL, but one of the richest in the world. In early May, Forbes listed them with a value of $4.3 billion, which was third-most in the NFL and ninth-most on the planet.

At that value, the Giants actually climbed the ladder a bit and closed the gap between themselves and the Dallas Cowboys, who remain the most valuable sports franchise in the world.

But value doesn’t necessarily equate to revenue. Because state rules are different across the country, the Giants may not be able to tap into certain revenue streams that other teams do. For the longest time, online sports betting revenue was among those pools of cash Big Blue could not access (2013 for New Jersey, 2021 for New York).

However, with betting laws rapidly changing and the COVID-19 pandemic easing, more revenue streams are beginning to open (and re-open) for the Giants. And in a recent analysis conducted by Bookies.com, New York is projected to become one of the most revenue-rich teams in the NFL by 2025.

The Giants have a projected revenue stream of $695.8 million, which is good for fourth in the NFL behind the San Francisco 49ers ($739.64 million), New England Patriots ($810.72 million) and aforementioned Dallas Cowboys ($1.3 billion).

The New York Giants ($695.8 million) and Houston Texans ($671.67 million) round out the top five in fourth and fifth place, respectively, while the Philadelphia Eagles ($650.43 million) finish sixth.

The Cowboys are far and away the leaders in projected revenue and it’s likely their overall value will rise considerably as a result. However, the same can now be said for the Giants, who may rise on Forbes’ franchise value chart a year from now.
