Now that the first wave of free agency is behind us, what does the New York Giants starting lineup look like?
On offense, if the Giants were take the field tomorrow, their lineup would be a very familiar one…
Daniel Jones would be the quarterback with Saquon Barkley lined up at running back behind him. Evan Engram would be at tight end, Sterling Shepard and Golden Tate would line up at wide receiver perhaps along with Darius Slayton or tight end Kaden Smith, depending on the play called.
The offensive line would feature Nate Solder at left tackle with Will Hernandez lined up next to him at guard. Spencer Pulley would be the center since Jon Halapio (Achilles) is still unsigned and Kevin Zeitler would line up at right guard.
The only new wrinkle would be at right tackle. The Giants could go with Nick Gates there or insert free agent Cam Fleming.
The 2020 NFL Draft could change this lineup, but not drastically. Should the Giants take a left tackle at No. 4, they would likely get him into the lineup asap and either move Nate Solder to the right side or the sideline.
On defense, there will be some new faces. The defensive front of Leonard Williams, Dexter Lawrence and Dalvin Tomlinson will stay the same should they employ a 3-4 alignment.
At linebacker, they would likely go with free agent Kyler Fackrell at the SAM and Lorenzo Carter at the WILL with Ryan Connelly being joined by free agent Blake Martinez in the middle.
The secondary will be anchored by free agent addition James Bradberry and DeAndre Baker. The safeties would be Jabrill Peppers and Julian Love with the slot corner either Grant Haley or Sam Beal.
On special teams, Riley Dixon and Aldrick Rosas return as the punter and kicker with Colin Holba replacing Zak DeOssie as the long snapper. The returners would be Peppers and Tate on punts and Slayton and Corey Ballentine on kickoffs.
