The 2021 regular season is finally upon us and that means it’s time for USA TODAY’s Nate Davis to release his weekly power rankings.

On Tuesday, Davis did exactly that and unsurprisingly, the New York Giants did not exactly fare well. However, they didn’t start out buried in the basement, so… small steps.

22. Giants (22): RB Saquon Barkley and WR Kenny Golladay appear ready to ride to the rescue of QB Daniel Jones … assuming this still suspect line doesn’t get him buried.

It’s officially football season when Davis takes an unprovoked shot at Daniel Jones.

Comparatively, the Philadelphia Eagles were ranked No. 30 overall, the Washington Football Team at No. 19 overall and the Dallas Cowboys at No. 14 overall.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers open the season at the very top of the list, while the Houston Texans find themselves buried in the dirt at No. 32 overall.

And in the event any Giants fans care, the New York Jets are listed at No. 27 overall.
