Giants open practice window for LB Matthew Adams

The New York Giants have opened the 21-day practice window for linebacker Matthew Adams.

Two New York Giants linebackers, Matthew Adams and Dyontae Johnson, are eligible for a return designation from injured reserve (IR) now that the NFL has entered Week 5.

The team has 21 days to activate them.

On Wednesday, head coach Brian Daboll announced that Adams’ window has been activated.

Adams was placed on IR by the Giants on August 28 with a quad issue.

Johnson suffered an ankle injury during the Giants’ first preseason game against the Detroit Lions and was placed on IR on August 29.

The Giants currently have depth at inside linebacker in Ty Summers and rookie Darius Muasau behind starters Bobby Okereke and Micah McFadden, so they may wait a bit to bring one — or both — of these players back.
