Because they moved on from Joe Judge and subsequently hired Brian Daboll, the New York Giants are permitted to open their offseason program on the first Monday of April.

That time has arrived.

The Giants’ offseason program will consist of four phases with the first beginning on Monday. The two-week phase permits the team to conduct up to four workouts per week (no weekends) limited to strength and conditioning activities (“dead ball”). They are allowed no more than 90 minutes on the field with only strength coaches permitted to join them.

Although entirely voluntary, the Giants are allowed to specify two hours per day in which players should be at the facility. Players can also choose two additional hours per day for workouts and other non-contact in-facility activities.

Players can not exceed four hours per day at team facilities unless specifically rehabbing from injury.

There is a maximum of four workouts per week with one of those consisting of a voluntary minicamp. The Giants will hold that camp from April 19 through April 21.

As a reminder, here’s the full offseason and minicamp schedule:

  • April 4 – Offseason program begins.
  • April 19-21 – Voluntary minicamp
  • April 21 – Joe Schoen’s pre-draft press conference
  • April 28-30 – 2022 NFL draft
  • May 13-15 – Rookie minicamp
  • May 16-17 – OTA workouts
  • May 19 – OTA workouts
  • May 23-24 – OTA workouts
  • May 26 – OTA workouts
  • May 31-June 3 – OTA workouts
  • June 7-9 – Mandatory minicamp

The voluntary April minicamp will not be open to members of the media.
