The New York Giants, the current leaders in the NFC East, are headed out west as prohibitive underdogs against the NFC West-leading Seattle Seahawks this Sunday afternoon.
The Giants (4-7) started the week as 7.5-point underdogs but the line has ballooned to 10.5 on BetMGM as the week progressed and the game nears. That number is solely predicated on the news that Giants starting quarterback Daniel Jones is unlikely to play.
Jones injured his right hamstring in last Sunday’s 19-17 victory over the Bengals in Cincinnati and sis not practice this week until Friday, when he was listed as limited. The official injury report lists Jones as doubtful for Sunday.
That would leave the Giants’ offense in the hands of veteran Colt McCoy, who has played sparingly over the last nine seasons, starting just seven games.
That is likely not the way the Giants expected to head into this game and their three-game winning steak — and their first place standing — is in serous jeopardy.
The over/under on the game is 47.5 with the money line jumping up to Giants +425, Seahawks -550.
Also being take into account is the Seahawks’ home record (5-0) this season and the Giants’ defeating only one team with a winning record since 2017. Seattle is 8-3 this season and are currently the second seed in the NFC behind New Orleans (9-2).
