Giants’ Nick Williams, Aaron Robinson unlikely to return this season

New York Giants DT Nick Williams is out for the remainder of the season and CB Aaron Robinson is “doubtful” to return.

New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll said on Tuesday that defensive lineman Nick Williams (bicep) was not coming back this year and that it’s ‘doubtful’ that cornerback Aaron Robinson’s knee injury was likely to return as well.

“Doubtful,” Daboll said when asked if Robinson would make it back this year.

“Yeah,” Daboll added when asked if Williams was out for the season.

Williams started seven of the Giants’ first eight games and recorded 15 total tackles with two passes defense and two QB hits.

Since being selected 71st overall in the 2021 NFL draft, Robinson has been injured more often than not. He missed the entire first half of last season on PUP with a foot injury. This season, he had his appendix removed and missed two games. Robinson injured his knee after returning and has been on IR since October 4.

The Giants have been getting by at both positions without Williams and Robinson but are thin along the line and in the secondary and can’t afford any more injuries. That is one of the many reasons why the Xavier McKinney injury is going to be so impactful.
