Pro Football Focus believes the New York Giants are among the most-improved teams in all of football three weeks into the new league year, but USA TODAY isn’t buying what they’re selling.
In their post-free agency power rankings, USA TODAY still has the Giants residing just outside of the basement at No. 30 overall.
30. Giants (26): Bill Belichick’s protégés have generally been apples who tend to fall quite far from the masterful tree. Joe Judge could get off to especially rocky start given how belated it will be.
The four-spot drop certainly isn’t the worst in the league, but the Giants also didn’t have very far to fall, having finished No. 26 overall in the year-end power rankings.
Comparatively, the Washington Redskins rose two spots to No. 29 overall, the Dallas Cowboys fell one spot to No. 15 overall and the Philadelphia Eagles fell four spots to No. 13 overall.
The defending Super Bowl champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, rightfully take up residence at No. 1 overall, while the Jacksonville Jaguars check in dead last at No. 32 overall.
