The New York Giants were scheduled to meet with Baylor head coach Matt Rhule on Tuesday, but that will not happen. After pushing Rhule to change the location of the interview, the Giants will now miss out on a face-to-face entirely.
Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports! reports that Rhule has agreed to become the next head coach of the Carolina Panthers, with whom he met on Monday.

The fact that New York couldn’t even get Rhule, who was rumored to covet the Giants job, into the building is a testament to how far the organization has fallen and how little head coaches desire to land there.
Ron Rivera was hired by the Washington Redskins before even giving the Giants an opportunity to make their pitch, while Mike McCarthy chose the Dallas Cowboys after meeting with Big Blue.
Like Rivera, Rhule didn’t even give the Giants a chance to hire him, proving that the organization isn’t as desirable a location as some would have you believe.
With Rivera, McCarthy and Rhule all out of the picture, the Giants will now move forward with interviewing New England Patriots offensive coordinator Josh McDaniels. After that, it’s anyone’s guess, but don’t be surprised to see Jason Garrett move to the forefront.
The Giants are running out of options without even taking a swing, and that’s about as embarrassing as it can get for John Mara, Steve Tisch & Co.
