The New York Giants released a statement on Monday morning to announce their continuing commitment of general manager Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll for the 2025 season.
Statement from Giants co-owner John Mara:
“Now that our season is over, we felt it necessary to make this statement. Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll will continue in their respective roles with the organization,” Mara wrote.
“As disappointing as the results of the season have been, Steve (Tisch) and I remain confident in the process that Joe and Brian have implemented and their vision for our team.
“We look forward to the future and achieving the results we all desire.”
The Giants finished with a 3-14 record this season, coming in last place in the NFC East.
Scheon and Daboll were hired before the 2022 season and took over a club that had won just 22 games over the previous five seasons and led the Giants to a 9-7-1 record and a postseason berth. For his efforts, Daboll was named the NFL’s Coach of the Year.
But the following two seasons were trying ones for Daboll and the Giants. The team has a record of 9-25 over that period.
Co-owner John Mara gave both Schoen and Daboll, who are both signed through the 2026 season, a vote of confidence during the season. The team felt they did not need a change among the coaching ranks or the front office after they finished near the bottom in nearly every offensive category in the league.
The Giants hold the third overall selection in the 2025 NFL draft and the organization is banking on Schoen repeating his strong draft performance from last spring.
