Giants’ Joe Schoen, Brian Daboll attended TCU pro day

New York Giants GM Joe Schoen and head coach Brian Daboll linked up again on Thursday, attending the TCU pro day.

The New York Giants remained on the pro day trail this week, making stops all over the country including at TCU on Thursday afternoon.

What was notable about Thursday’s stop was that it featured the reconnecting Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll, the second-year general manager-head coach combo for the Giants.

The pair have made pitstops at several notable pro days this offseason and all seem centered around the available wide receiver prospects.

On Wednesday evening, a Giants contingent took TCU wide receiver Quentin Johnston out to dinner. Less than 24 hours later, they had eyes locked on his drills. Daboll also chatted with running back Kendre Miller, who was not participating.

The Giants’ presence at most pro days should not come as much of a surprise — they cast a wide net and have a deep team of scouts, evaluators, and assistants. However, when Schoen and Daboll link up and personally put eyes on specific players, that is worth noting.

If trends mean anything, the Giants appear to be heavily leaning toward taking a wide receiver at No. 25 overall next month.
