Giants’ James Bradberry vows to send mother into retirement with new contract

New York Giants CB James Bradberry says he will use money from his new contract to ensure that his mother retires.

New York Giants’ recently-signed free agent cornerback James Bradberry has some of his $45 million contract money earmarked for someone special.

Bradberry, who inked a three-year, $45 million deal with Big Blue earlier this month says he’s going to pay back his mother by “retiring her.”

“I’mma surprise her with that,” the new Giant corner told TMZ Sports. “It’s not an actual thing I’d be giving her, but I’ll be telling her, ‘Hey, you ain’t got to go to work anymore if you don’t want to.'”

Bradberry says his mother deserves all of it for the way she raised him and his sister as a single mom in Birmingham, Alabama.

Bradberry played his college ball at Samford, which is right outside of Birmingham. He then was drafted by the Carolina Panthers in the second round of the 2016 NFL Draft. His contract with the Panthers expired on March 18.
