Giants’ Jabrill Peppers on possibly being traded: ‘I just want to win’

Jabrill Peppers won’t say whether or not he’d like to remain with the New York Giants as the NFL’s trade deadline approaches.

New York Giants safety Jabrill Peppers is rarely short on words so when he offered very little on Wednesday, it raised a red flag.

Not only did Peppers pull a Marshawn Lynch and say as little as possible in an effort to satisfy his media responsibility, what he did say spoke volumes. Especially when it came to his future with the Giants.

With the NFL’s trade deadline looming, would Peppers prefer to ride things out with the Giants and take his talents elsewhere?

“I just want to win, baby. I want to make plays, go out there and win ball games,” Peppers told reporters.

Peppers is making fewer and fewer plays this season as his role steadily diminishes. And when he is put in on defense, he’s not being used in the same way he was a season ago. The result? Obvious frustration.

“I’m just motivated to play better and get this thing turned around,” Peppers said. “Just got to get better.”

Logan Ryan insists the locker room is not fracturing, but to pretend all is right in Giants land would be dishonest. The constant losing is wearing thin and players are becoming more and more exhausted with it all — even their captains.

Peppers is among the Giants’ trade candidates and by the look and sound of things, he’s not long for East Rutherford.
