Giants investigating viral video allegedly involving Saquon Barkley, Daniel Jones

The New York Giants are looking into a viral video that allegedly show Daniel Jones and Saquon Barkley at an NYC bar without masks.

The New York Giants released a statement on Saturday afternoon, revealing that they are aware of and investigating a viral video purported to show second-year quarterback Daniel Jones and running back Saquon Barkley.

“We are aware of the video that was posted. We are looking into the nature and context of what is on the video,” the team said.

The video, which has been shared in various forms on social media, claims to show Barkley and Jones at a New York City bar on Friday night, one day after their 22-21 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles, sans protective masks.

The video reportedly surfaced on the Instagram page of a man who calls himself DJ Lugghead before being deleted and then making the rounds elsewhere.

In the video, Barkley, who is scheduled to undergo ACL surgery next week, and Jones are shown on both the inside and outside of the bar. At one point, Barkley is spotted riding a bicycle, while Jones takes the sip of a drink handed to him by an unknown woman in another.

A person claiming to be DJ Lugghead emailed NJ Advance Media on Saturday and stated the bar, “Common Ground,” “isn’t even opened.” However, the bar’s website states that it has active hours and an answering service at the listed phone number suggests the same.

In addition to claiming the bar was closed, DJ Lugghead also claimed the video was recorded a year ago. However, an accompanying photo may suggest otherwise.

If the video, which may also show several other Giants players, was recently recorded, the players are potentially in violation of league, team and state orders and protocols.
