Giants injury update: Kevin Zeitler hurt ankle in loss to Eagles

New York Giants OL Kevin Zeitler suffered what appeared to be a serious injury in a Week 14 loss to the Philadelphia Eagles.

The New York Giants lost to the Philadelphia Eagles, 23-17, on Monday night but may have lost more than just a game.

Right guard Kevin Zeitler left the game in the second half with an ankle injury. The injury occured when Eagles’ defensive end Vinny Curry zipped past Giants left tackle Nate Solder for a sack of Eli Manning. In the process, Curry inadvertently leg-whipped Zeitler, who was busy doing his job engaging another defender.

Zeitler left the game on a cart after not being bale to step down or put any weight on his right ankle.

Zeitler, who came over from Cleveland in the Odell Beckham Jr.-Olivier Vernon trade on March, has been a steady presence on the Giants offensive line this season playing 800 of the team’s 803 offensive snaps this season.

During his career, Zeitler has been extremely reliable, starting the last 85 games of his career going into and including Monday night.
