New York Giants general manager Joe Schoen held his pre-draft press conference on Wednesday and unlike Dave Gettleman before him, it was very bland.
Schoen paused before answering any questions, considered his words carefully and offered up no meaningful information that wasn’t already known. What he did reveal, however, is that the Giants have received calls about both cornerback James Bradberry and their two first round picks.
That’s not groundbreaking. We know. But it is a confirmation that at least some teams are sniffing around Bradberry and the potential for the Giants to trade back exists.

Schoen also reiterated that there are contingency plans in the event Bradberry isn’t traded that would allow him to remain with the Giants.
Schoen said he’s had good conversations with Bradberry and his representatives. The Giants have gotten calls on him but there are still scenarios for him to remain on the team.

Meanwhile, Schoen said, there have been no firm offers for either the No. 5 overall pick or the No. 7 overall pick. Rather, he believes teams are just fishing around a bit ahead of the 2022 NFL draft.
Joe Schoen says he has gotten a number of calls about the 5th and 7th picks. "No hard offers," mostly just teams "fishing around." Schoen said he expects real conversations to pick up next week. Adds: "I am perfectly fine with 5 and 7" so staying put is a possibility too.

Ultimately, Schoen did a great job keeping his cards close to his vest. He didn’t offer up anything that would tip the Giants’ hand nor did he say anything to deplete the potential trade value of Bradberry.
