Giants’ Graham Gano named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week

New York Giants kicker Graham Gano has been named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week after a 13-point performance against the Panthers.

A week after New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley was named NFC Offensive Player of the Week, Big Blue took home another award.

This time around, following a 13-point performance that featured four field goals (two from 50-plus yards) and one extra point, kicker Graham Gano has been named NFC Special Teams Player of the Week.

Gano’s 56-yard boot with 3:34 remaining was the second-longest game-deciding field goal in Giants history. It also extended Gano’s franchise record for 50-plus yard field goals to 14.

The Player of the Week award is the fifth of Gano’s career and his third in three seasons with the Giants. And the back-to-back Player of the Week awards are the first for the Giants since 2016, which is also the last time the team started 2-0 and won their home opener.

Gano joins Brad Daluiso as the only Giants kickers to earn Special Teams Player of the Week honor three or more times.
