The New York Giants entered their second day of joint practices against the Lions in Detroit with several roster ‘bubble’ players sitting out.
RB Gary Brightwell and OL Devery Hamilton will miss time with injuries. Daboll said they’re not long-term, but not day-to-day either.

Gary Brightwell is, at the most, the Giants’ fourth-string running back behind Saquon Barkley, Matt Breida and Eric Gray but is the leading candidate to return kicks this season.
Devery Hamilton is vying for a roster spot at right tackle behind Evan Neal and Matt Peart.
Also taking a day off on Wednesday is veteran wide receiver Sterling Shepard (knee), who was scheduled to have a maintenance day.
