Giants’ Daniel Jones doubtful vs. Seahawks

New York Giants QB Daniel Jones (hamstring) is doubtful to play in Week 13 against the Seattle Seahawks.

New York Giants head coach Joe Judge is adamant that quarterback Daniel Jones has a chance to play on Sunday against the Seattle Seahawks, but it will take a medical miracle for that hope to turn into reality.

“I thought he threw the ball well [on Thursday],” Judge told reporters on Friday. “Obviously, we didn’t want to go ahead and open him up too much yesterday, really being just a couple of days into kind of moving around. But he threw the ball well. I saw a lot of good velocity and very good accuracy. We talked in terms of how he felt on different things, different movements.

“But look, I think this guy is doing everything he can to get on the field. Again, we’re checking with the trainers, seeing how much progress he made on their end today. We’ll see him a little bit on the grass today in terms of how he’s with the team, and we’ll make decisions really a little bit after the (practice), and we’ll also see how he feels going out there after a long flight to Seattle.”

Jones returned to the practice field on Friday and did a bit more than he had the day prior, but the Giants ultimately listed him as doubtful to play in Week 13.

Even with the doubtful designation, Jones will travel with the team to Seattle and join them for a walkthrough on Saturday morning. How he feels after that will ultimately determine his final fate.

Meanwhile, the Giants listed linebacker David Mayo as questionable with a knee injury. He was limited throughout the week and will likely be a game-time decision.

Finally, linebacker Cam Brown (illness), safety Nate Ebner (knee), wide receiver Sterling Shepard (toe/shoulder) and wide receiver Darius Slayton (shoulder/foot) all avoided an injury designation despite being limited on Friday, and all are expected to suit up against Seattle on Sunday.
