The New York Giants dropped their seventh game of the season on Monday night, falling to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, 30-10.
It was another disastrous performance for the offense despite the return of running back Saquon Barkley, who once again looked like a shell of his former self. But Barkley wasn’t the only player who contributed to the offensive woes — everyone not named Andrew Thomas was responsible.
Following the loss, the Giants continued their slide in the USA TODAY power rankings.
27. Giants (26): Just a shame what’s befallen RB Saquon Barkley, easy as it was to miss his 12 mostly irrelevant touches as he returned to action Monday night.
Around and around we go…
Comparatively, the suddenly hot Washington Football Team rose one spot to No. 23 overall, while the Philadelphia Eagles climbed three spots to No. 18 overall.
The Eagles and Giants will square off on Sunday.
Meanwhile, following their embarrassing loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, the Dallas Cowboys dropped three spots to No. 5 overall.
The Arizona Cardinals have reclaimed the No. 1 overall spot and the Detroit Lions are back in place at No. 32 overall.
