Giants attempted to trade up with Patriots for Drake Maye

Drake Maye looked to be the target for the New York Giants in a trade up with the New England Patriots.

The new offseason version of HBO’s hit series “Hard Knocks” is featuring the New York Giants and so far, it’s been a hit. Cameras had access to offseason events for the Giants going through pre-draft events, free agency, the draft and much more.

And it’s also revealing some behind-the-scenes details featuring some of the top 2024 NFL Draft prospects, including Drake Maye.

During the most recent episode on Tuesday, Giants general manager Joe Schoen is going through his options with the draft as the franchise held the No. 6 overall pick. That included some trade possibilities to move up or potentially down.

One of the calls he made was to New England general manager Eliot Wolf, seeing if he can go to No. 3 and presumably take Drake Maye or Jayden Daniels. Check out the clip below:

This isn’t the first time Maye has been featured on the show this season as he was shown talking to the Giants at the NFL Scouting Combine. The Giants looked impressed with Maye when talking to him, so you can see why they were potentially trying to trade up.

In the end, the Giants stayed at No. 6 and drafted LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers.
