It’s been a busy and strange week for the New York Giants, and it doesn’t appear to be slowing down as the team enters the weekend.
In recent days, offensive coordinator Jason Garrett has tested positive for COVID-19, while star cornerback James Bradberry was placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list due to close contact with a person who tested positive.
The good news is that no additional players tested positive on Friday, but the team did see another positive result come through on Saturday morning.
The Giants have announced that offensive assistant Stephen Brown has been isolated after contracting the coronavirus.
“The Giants have been informed that offensive assistant Stephen Brown has tested positive for COVID-19. He immediately self-isolated, and we are currently working with the league’s chief medical officer regarding close contacts,” the team said in a statement. “Quest Diagnostics Training Center remains open, and the team is following their normal practice and meeting schedule today.”
After Garrett’s positive test, both the team and NFL began contract tracing and determined that there had been no high-risk interactions. It would appear as if Brown’s positive test is unrelated.
As the Giants alluded in their statement, facilities remain open with coaches and players conducting business as usual.
