Giants add tight end C.J. Conrad back to their roster

The New York Giants signed a slew of players to reserve/futures contracts on Thursday, most notably tight end C.J. Conrad, who spent last summer at Giants’ training camp.

C.J. Conrad, the Kentucky product that spent last summer at training camp with the New York Giants, has been re-signed by the team.

Conrad (6’4″, 246) was released by the Giants last summer after being signed by the Giants as a UDFA out of Kentucky and appeared to make a mark with the coaches and his teammates, was released late in camp and did not catch on with another club. The Giants placed Conrad on their practice squad but released him two weeks into the season.

The Giants signed Conrad to a reserve/futures deal on Thursday along with several others: fullback George Aston, wide receiver Alex Bachman, cornerback Derrick Baity, running back Jonathan Hilliman, long snapper Drew Scott, punter Sean Smith, center Tanner Volson,  wide receiver Reggie White, Jr.,  defensive tackle Kevin Wilkins and guard Nate Wozniak.

During training camp, Conrad developed a close relationship with another rookie, quarterback Daniel Jones, and he made great strides in camp. He will now get another chance to challenge for a roster spot this summer.
