Zach Davidson’s name has been popping up throughout the summer.
At training camp, the under-the-radar player has made some waves. He’s pushing to take the No. 3 tight end position on the Bills roster behind top targets Dalton Kincaid and Dawson Knox.
In recent years, Quintin Morris has held that role and been a valuable piece for Buffalo thanks to his versatility. But Davidson does have a unique background that is worth rooting for.
Davidson never really meant to play football. Now he’s in the NFL.
Not only that, his first position? Players often have new spots on the field–but from punter to tight end? That’s some football journey.
WROC-TV talked to Davidson about his background, which can be found in the clip below:
6'7'' tight end Zach Davidson is turning heads at training camp so far.
But Davidson actually got his start in football as a punter thanks to a couple of pranksters and a mailbox.#Bills #BillsMafia @News_8 pic.twitter.com/T1dEBmGc4o
