Georgia running back remains week to week, Smart shares Trevor Etienne update

Kirby Smart shares some key updates for Clemson vs. Georgia.

During his press conference on Monday, Kirby Smart announced that sophomore running back Roderick Robinson will miss the top-ranked Bulldogs season-opener against No. 14 Clemson with a toe injury.

“Rod’s toe is still an issue for him,” the head coach said. “Probably will be week to week. Not sure how long it will take in terms of the surgery.”

Last season, Robinson rushed for 196 yards on 24 carries. He is UGA’s leading returning rusher. Smart was also asked about the status of transfer running back Trevor Etienne, who was arrested on DUI and reckless driving charges over the offseason.

“I don’t really talk about any of the other stuff in regards to any of our players with suspensions,” Smart said. “But I’m excited about all the guys that are gonna get an opportunity to play.”

The charges of DUI less safe and DUI under 21 were dismissed while Etienne pled no contest to a reckless driving charge.
