Georgia Bulldogs running back Daijun Edwards accepts Senior Bowl invite

Georgia running back Daijun Edwards has accepted an invitation to participate in the annual Reese’s Senior Bowl in Mobile next week, becoming the seventh Bulldog to do so.

Edwards recently declared for the 2024 NFL draft after completing a four-year career at Georgia, where he played in a total of 51 games. Throughout his time at UGA, Edwards recorded 391 carries for 2,082 yards and 24 touchdowns. Additionally, he gained 343 receiving yards on 37 catches.

Edwards played his biggest role for the Bulldogs in 2023 along side Kendall Milton, who also entered this year’s draft. An MCL injury bothered Edwards for most of the season and caused him to miss two games. Still, he was willing to play while not at full strength and went on to rush for a career-best 880 yards on 165 carries (5.3 yard average) and 13 touchdowns.

Joining Edwards at the Senior Bowl will be wide receivers Ladd McConkey and Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint, offensive lineman Sedrick Van Pran, defensive backs Javon Bullard and Tykee Smith and long snapper William Mote. The Senior Bowl will culminate with a scrimmage on Feb. 3rd.
