Georgia OT Amarius Mims declares for 2024 NFL draft

Amarius Mims is a first-round prospect for the 2024 NFL draft.

According to Pete Thamel of ESPN, University of Georgia standout offensive tackle Amarius Mims is leaving Georgia to declare for the 2024 NFL draft.

Mims has missed half of the 2023 season after suffering a high ankle sprain. Mims had a tightrope procedure to try to speed up recovery but was unable to return. Mims traveled with his team to the Orange Bowl but did not play.

In terms of his stock for the 2024 NFL draft, Mims is in the neighborhood of the fourth or fifth-best offensive tackle. Olu Fashanu and Joe Alt are the clear elite prospects and both could potentially be a top five pick. Mims is in that second tier of offensive tackles with Alabama’s JC Latham and Oregon State’s Taliese Fuaga and all three could come off the board in the first round. Mims is the best natural right tackle in this draft which could be a real draw to a team in need.
